Save the Arctic

Greenpeace holds a historic concert with pianist Ludovico Einaudi on the Arctic to call for its protection

● With this action, Greenpeace is urging the OSPAR Commission not to miss the opportunity to protect international Arctic waters under its

mandate at this week’s meeting in Tenerife

● The concert is the most northerly grand piano performance ever held and involved shipping the instrument all the way from Germany

● Elegy for the Arctic is an original piece composed by Einaudi especially for the occasion

● The Arctic Sunrise travelled to the Arctic taking with it the demands of people across the world for this valuable ecosystem to be saved

● This is the first time a piano has ever been played on a floating platform in the icy Arctic waters

● Greenpeace shipped a grand piano all the way to the Arctic so the acclaimed composer could add his voice to demands for this endangered region to be saved
